The South African Universities Radiometric Network (SAURAN) has recently added Eskom’s radiometric station at Sutherland as the 12th station across Southern Africa. This network of stations make high-resolution, ground-based solar radiometric data available to the public.
The graph below shows minute-average GHI, DNI and DHI readings for the days of 15-19 November 2014. The station is already delivering impressive data with DNI values higher than 1000 w/m2.
