Sasol is proud to sponsor the first-ever African stopover of Energy Observer, the world’s premier renewable energy hydrogen-powered vessel, which will be docked at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town from 12 – 20 June 2023. A floating laboratory that showcases the potential of sustainable energy systems by harnessing solar, wind, and hydrogen power, Energy Observer is a remarkable symbol of renewable energy innovation and the only vessel of its kind.
Sasol’s sponsorship of the Energy Observer’s Cape Town stopover seeks to demonstrate the organisation’s commitment to promoting sustainable practices and accelerating the adoption of renewable energy solutions to combat climate change.
Sasol and Energy Observer will host an exciting week-long exhibition at a village at the V&A Waterfront throughout the duration of vessel’s stay in Cape Town, featuring the latest innovative technologies in the areas of hydrogen and the broader decarbonisation value chain. With South Africa’s pressing need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adopt sustainable practices, this week-long exhibition will shed light on the pivotal role that technology plays in transitioning the energy sector.
Sasol will host a number of activities, all geared at showcasing the Sasol of the future.
Join for exhibitions and live demonstrations of how technology is enabling the decarbonisation of operations, industries, and the country.
