Two STERG alumni have achieved remarkable success in the solar energy industry. Dr Paul Gauché (founder of STERG) previously managed the Concentrating Solar Technologies department at Sandia National Laboratories, New Mexico, from 2017 to 2020. He has recently taken up a new role as the Vice President of Research and Development at Heliogen in the United States.
Dr Willem Landman has also joined Heliogen as a Concentrating Solar Power System Design Specialist. He previously worked as a Technology Development Specialist at SBP Sonne, from 2017 to 2020, in Germany.
Heliogen, founded in 2013 by serial entrepreneur and innovator Bill Gross, is a clean energy company that focuses on replacing carbon-intensive processes with alternative solar powered technologies.
